Big Block is seeking a Skilled Labourer to join our team. Reporting to the Site Supervisor, the purpose of the Skilled Labourer position is to keep the job site clean for safety and injury prevention of workers. This position is responsible for performing physical labour at the job site in a safe and efficient manner.
Primary Responsibilities:
Complete construction/labour tasks, in a timely manner, as assigned by site supervisor
Advise site supervisor of material requirements on site. Advise of material overages to return for credit
Tidy work site and remove garbage to ensure it is clean
Protect work in place and delivered materials from unnecessary damage
Maintain signage, ensuring they are straight and in good order
Sweep, sand and prepare floors for laying
Perform some carpentry work as required
Pick up and schedule deliveries of materials
Stacking and banding of materials
Report safety incidents in an accurate and timely manner
Resolve problems/issues in an effective and timely manner
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
Valid drivers license
General knowledge of construction practices and procedures
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to do heavy lifting and work in extreme weather conditions (from hot to cold)
Must be a resident of Saskatchewan and be legally able to work in Canada
