Primary Function
The Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN) is seeking a highly motivated individual for a one-year term position, with the potential of renewal dependent on funding. The individual will be responsible for providing support and research in designing structures, systems or processes that promote and aid the formulation, coordination, integration and implementation of programs, services and benefits for Child and Youth Empowerment and Life Promotion projects that align with the Saskatchewan First Nation Suicide Prevention Project.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
Manage projects and deliverables.
Supervision of staff and ensuring standards, policies and procedures are followed and completed within specific timelines and budget.
Works independently with minimal direct supervision.
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, negotiation skills and significant knowledge of issues impacting First Nations as well as First Nations governance structures and processes in Saskatchewan.
Coordinate and provide recommendations for policies, regulations, strategies, programs or services.
Coordinate and monitor relationships/negotiations between government, FSIN, private agencies and individuals.
Responsible for preparation and monitoring of budget proposals, yearly expenditure plans, strategic plans, reports to funding agencies for Youth Empowerment initiatives in collaboration with other senior management staff within the Health and Social Development Secretariat.
Qualifications
Education
Post-secondary degree from a recognized university in the field of Social Work, Indigenous Studies and/or other Child Welfare and Social Development related degrees.
Experience
Minimum seven (7) years cumulative management experience.
