Description

Good Neighbours Food Centre (GNFC) is a non-profit organization that provides food security programming (including the Food Bank) to communities within a 50km radius of Rosthern.  Accountable to a volunteer Board of Directors, the Executive Director manages one employee, contract workers, summer students and volunteers.

GNFC is seeking a dynamic leader who is inspired to work towards a food secure community.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Commitment to food security in the community
Promote a welcoming and collaborative atmosphere toward all
Exceptional communication skills
Ability to work independently
Ability to direct/coach employees and volunteers
Ability to manage a variety of projects concurrently
Knowledge of the community and surrounding area

DUTIES:
1.Align all work/projects with the Strategic Plan
2.Raise awareness of food security issues
3.Hire and oversee employees and contract workers
4.Ensure safety in the building
5.Build community capacity through the coordination of programming that highlights food insecurity
6.Provide a monthly report to the Board of Directors
7.Responsible for website and social media
8.Have ongoing communication with stakeholders (e.g. community partners)
9.Collect data for grants and reports
10.Other duties as required

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure financial health of GNFC
Write grants
Develop fundraising strategies
Create budget and track expenditures
All bookkeeping

REQUIREMENTS:
Valid driver's license
Vehicle
Physical ability to lift reasonable weight
