Job Description: Reporting to the Senior Dental Therapist and Primary Health Care Manager, the Dental Therapist will provide prevention services, diagnostic treatment planning, restorative/operative dental treatment, community and preventive dentistry services to children in the Dental Health Program.  The incumbent specializes in stimulating, coordinating, and delivering oral health promotion activities aimed at reducing disease and promoting oral health for people in the community.  Incumbents must have an ability to work independently and within multi-disciplinary teams.  The incumbent will plan, develop, organize, implement and evaluate the delivery of an active preventive oral health education and promotion program within the dental professionals scope of practice.

Qualifications:
Education
Graduate from a recognized dental therapy program with a diploma of Dental Therapy or Dental Nurse.
Eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Dental Therapists Association

Experience:
Extensive experience in using computers/equipment/related software. Additional training would be an asset
Experience/training in health promotion, public relations projects and/or media
Must possess a valid class 5 drivers license
CPR/ First Aid Training would be an asset
Ability to travel on remote northern roads and fly in small aircraft to remote communities

Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement.  HSAS seniority within the Saskatchewan Health Authority will be considered under the Selection Criteria.
