The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency is seeking an Electronics Technologist for a minimum 1-year term headquartered in Prince Albert. Reporting to the Technical Services Unit Supervisor, the incumbent will apply knowledge and technical expertise of wireless voice and data communications systems.
The successful applicant will:
Provide technical services for the Provincial Public Safety Telecommunications Network supporting two-way radio
Accurately identify issues, concerns or problems, consider various options and determine and implement an appropriate course of action
Present technical solutions and user training to non-technical clients
Liaise and cooperate with system users seeking, sharing and providing technical advice
Requirement:
Typically, the knowledge and abilities required for this position would be obtained through a two-year Electronic Engineering or Computer Science Diploma, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
Travel to remote locations via helicopter and ATV is required
Required to physically perform tasks such as lifting, carrying or moving supplies and equipment, and work at heights up to 30m
There is significant in-province travel associated with this position
Valid Class 5 driver's license
Note:
Must be able to meet standards for Enhanced Reliability Security clearance
This clearance requires Canadian Permanent Resident or Citizenship status
