The Ministry of Social Services, Child and Family Programs division in the North service area requires three Child & Caregiver Support Workers to join the Foster Care Resources unit. The positions available are located in the Prince Albert and will provide services under the Authority of The Child and Family Services Act and The Adoption Act.You will provide a range of services designed to provide protective, preventative and support services to extended families, alternate caregivers, foster parents, adoptive parents, plus children and their families using the P.R.I.D.E. model and the Family Centered Case Management Model of practice.
As a Child & Caregiver Support Worker, you will be responsible for delivery of services, which include casework and resource planning related to a variety of programs for children in care, extended family caregivers, and or foster families. You may provide support to caregivers to develop planning for childrens best interests and work with them in establishing the supports they require. You will be required to travel throughout the city and rural area and work flexible hours.
To qualify for this position, you will possess a Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work, or an equivalent Bachelor of Social Work degree from an accredited university, as approved by the SASW or CASW/CASWE.
