Description

The Health & Safety Coordinator is an integral part of the team at Protex.  Serving as a liaison between management and employees, the Coordinator maintains all safety aspects of the safety program and associated documentation.  Monitoring safe work practices and procedures is a primary duty of the coordinator through on and off site inspections.  Coaching is a major component of the position, whether by daily toolbox meetings, site inspections, or training initiatives.

Key Accountabilities

Maintaining company safety manual and safety policies
Performing internal COR Audits and liaising with external COR Auditors
Working with management and employees through regular site visits to ensure safety program requirements and documentation are being met
Provide safety leadership, advice, and mentoring to the management team
Acting as Employer Chair of Occupational Health Committee and ensuring all requirements are being met
Ensuring employee training records are current including
Performing in-house safety training and managing new employee safety orientation.
Coordinating third party training as required.
Other duties as required

Requirements:

Computer literate / proficient in Microsoft Office
Possession of current safety tickets (first aid, COR Training etc.) will be considered a minimum. Please include copies of any certificates with resume.
Qualified as defined by certification in one or more of the following (with two to four years of related experience) or equivalent education/experience is considered a strong asset:

    National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO)
    Canadian registration of Safety Professionals (CRSP)
    Certified Safety Professional (CSP)

Have own transportation.
Valid drivers license.
