Description

Key responsibilities include:
-    Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).  
-    Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures
-    Ensure that all statutory requirements of the organization are met including Withholding Payments (CPP, EI), Income Tax, and Goods and Services Tax
-    Prepare supporting information for the annual audit and liaise with the Director of Finance and CFO as necessary
-    Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions
-    Review monthly results and prepare variance reporting
-    Manage the cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts in accordance with policy
-    Oversee the bookkeeping function including maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
-    Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that personnel and financial information is secure and stored in compliance with current legislation
-    Special projects as assigned

Preference will be given to an individual who possesses:
-    Bachelors Degree (Business Administration or Commerce), working towards an accounting designation considered an asset
-    Three or more years experience in an accounting/audit role, preferably with publicly traded companies, or entities reporting under IFRS;
-    Strong working knowledge of Word and Excel with the ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets, format financial documents, and manage data;
-    Demonstrated organization and analytical skill with the ability to work within and meet deadlines;
-    Superior written and verbal communication;
-    The ability to work independently using sound judgment and initiative;
-    Cooperative team player with the motivation and willingness to experience a fast-paced environment; and
-    A good sense of humour.
