DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position: Part-Time Permanent
Closing Date: August 2, 2022

We are currently seeking a permanent part-time Mental Health Addictions Counsellor. The successful candidate will be a member of an interdisciplinary team working under the direct supervision of a Family Treatment Program Manager and overall supervision of the Family Treatment Programs Director.

Within this role, the primary focus will be to assist individuals in their recovery from addictions by implementing evidence based best practices. You will be an independent and energetic family centered practitioner educated, trained and skilled in the area of mental health and family work. You will work within the philosophy, objectives and standards set by the Family Treatment Program and the overall agency.

Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) providing addictions related psycho-educational programming as well as individual and group counseling sessions to clients and their children within a family centered residential addictions setting. This position will be expected to assess individual/family and group needs and devise and implement treatment plans to help participants reach their goals while maintaining family safety.

Education & experience requirements:
Masters Degree in Addiction Counselling/Social Services/Healthcare required
Knowledge of evidenced based models in substance misuse and recovery issues required
Experience in a residential and/or treatment setting
Current Standard First Aid certification
