The File Hills QuAppelle Tribal Council is a dynamic and progressive organization that provides a range of programs and health services to serve the eleven First Nations throughout Southern Saskatchewan within the Treaty Four Territory. The position is based at the All Nations Healing Hospital, located in Fort QuAppelle, SK.
Reporting to the Director of Programs and Community Health Services or designate, this position will work in the newly developed rehabilitation program within the All Nations Healing Hospital and the File Hills QuAppelle Tribal Council Health Services. The exercise therapist will work as part of the rehabilitation team and greater multidisciplinary team to provide holistic therapy services in diverse settings including inpatient unit, outpatient, and community, within a culturally responsive client directed care model. Under the clinical guidance of the Physical Therapist/Occupational Therapist, the Exercise Therapist is responsible and accountable for fitness appraisals and the instruction and modification of exercise programs to meet client care need, within their scope of practice, provides health promotion and disease prevention education through the application of exercise and physical activity to individuals and groups to promote healthy living, maintain patient records, organize treatment schedules, and have a role in equipment needs of clients.
Qualifications:
Certified Exercise Physiologist, registered with Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology. Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with courses and training in evaluation and treating asymptomatic and symptomatic populations. Current BCLS-C. Valid Saskatchewan Drivers License.
