We are currenting recruiting for a Cook to work as part of a team dedicated to the treatment and success of youth in our care. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager or designate, the Cook is responsible for providing nutritious and healthy meals for the clients, guests, and staff of WBTC.
The Cook is responsible for: food preparation (full-course meals, snacks, baking, meals for the weekend, bagged lunches); purchasing and inventorying food and supplies; kitchen cleaning, maintenance, and sanitation; ensuring hygiene and safe food handling procedures are being followed; providing cooking/baking lessons; and other duties as assigned. The Cook will also support cultural diversity by learning and participating in cultural programming.
Minimal Requirements: Grade 12 or equivalent with three years of related experience OR a Culinary Certificate/Diploma with two years of related experience; Safe Food Handling Certificate; Valid Class 5 Drivers license and a reliable means of getting to work; and Ability to provide a clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector check.
This is a part-time position (20 hours per week) with shifts primarily on Saturdays and Sundays.
