The Town of St. Brieux is currently seeking a Utility Operator.
The successful applicant will be responsible to the Chief Administrative Officer for the overall supervision, organization, and coordination of our Utility Systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1) Level 1 Water Treatment and Distribution and Wastewater Certification and the willingness to achieve their Level II.
2) Experience in public works is a definite asset.
3) Experience running heavy equipment and
mechanical skills to repair and maintain
equipment.
4) Possess management, planning, supervising,
evaluating, and coaching skills.
5) Ability to communicate effectively and maintain
positive public relations.
6) Self-motivated and possess a strong work ethic.
7) Have Grade 12.
8) Valid Class 5 driver's license and be able to
provide a clean driver's abstract.
9) Ability to provide a clear Criminal Record
check.
10) Knowledge of OH&S regulations.
11) Knowledge of computers and various software.
12) Possess PME certification, as well as other
safety courses that are required, is a definite
asset.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties include but are not limited to:
a) Water and Wastewater operations with compliance
and reporting as set out by senior levels of
government.
b) Water Treatment Plant and all duties related to
treatment of water including regular testing.
c) Maintenance and operation of the Towns
infrastructure, buildings, and equipment.
d) Road maintenance including drainage issues,
grading, snow removal, etc.
