NLSD #113 invites applications for the following temporary full-time position

MENTAL HEALTH CAPACITY BUILDING WELLNESS PROMOTER

La Ronge is part of the tri-community of Lac La Ronge Indian Band and Air Ronge with a total population of over 7000.  Situated on the western shore of beautiful Lac La Ronge, La Ronge is the gateway to exploring Saskatchewans far north.  There are many sandy beaches and year-round recreational activities from canoeing and fishing the Churchill River to some of the greatest cross-country ski trails.

Churchill Community High School is a great school with a tradition of excellence in academics, athletics and the fine arts. CCHS has a student population of 527 and a professional staff component of 36.
The position is responsible for providing leadership and support to the overall objectives of the divisions initiatives.
This is a temporary full-time 12-month position that will commence August 29, 2022.  There is a possibility that the position will be extended for two years.
The incumbent will work as part of a team to meet the objectives of the division.  The objectives will be met by delivering appropriate, evidence-based programming to children, youth and families.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Delivering programming for groups in school and community settings;
Working with students, schools staff, parents/guardians and community members to increase knowledge and skills related to mental health issues;
Understand and adapt to the changing needs of the community related to mental health and wellness;
Build and maintain strong relationships with the children, you and families;
Identify and facilitate access for individuals who need referrals to mental health and addiction services.
