The Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment has an exciting senior management opportunity as the Executive Director, Fish and Wildlife Branch. Currently located in Regina, consideration of other provincial office centres as headquarters will be dependent on our candidate of choice.
Your outstanding leadership will set the strategic direction for conservation of the provinces fish and wildlife resources, the strategy and framework for priority issues such as biodiversity and species at risk, protection of important and critical habitats. You will be promoting long term sustainability and stewardship of the provinces fish and wildlife resources and habitat, engaging with stakeholders, and overseeing the biodiversity data, regulations and policy that inform critical conservation and direct managing priority natural areas and regions of the province.
The Fish and Wildlife Branch within the Ministry of Environment has an exciting senior management opportunity for the position of Executive Director, Fish and Wildlife Branch.
Typically, the knowledge and competencies for this position would be acquired through degree in an ecology or environmental science field supplemented by a post graduate degree in a related field and/or directly related experience, including experience at a managerial level. Also, through strong management and leadership competencies are essential to break down structural and functional barriers and encourage development and maintenance of partnerships with other professional institutions and agencies, and to provide oversight to fulfill the branch mandate.
