Description

The Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Services Branch, has an exciting and challenging opportunity to be a leader in the delivery of agricultural programming and extension services as part of the Agriculture Program Specialist team delivering programming offered under the Canadian Agricultural Partnership.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of agriculture programming and program delivery as well as current agriculture trends and issues in Saskatchewan and Canada. You will be a leader in the delivery of client services focused on program awareness, building public trust, research, and technology transfer.

This position will develop and deliver extension events and provide in-depth knowledge to farmers, ranchers, agri-business, and industry stakeholders on agricultural programs and availability of programming. You will work with applied research and demonstration projects that support the adoption of best practices supported through the promotion of programming. Working with Ministry partners, you will have a key role in identifying client issues and providing insight to ensure the development of programming is supporting the sustainability of clients and industry growth. Your ability to influence others, build relationships and maintain networks with key stakeholders within government and industry will be crucial to the success of the role.

Typically, the competencies required for this position would be obtained through a degree in public policy, business administration, or agriculture combined with relevant program delivery and leadership experience.
