This position is forefront of customer service. This includes:
- Dispensing of petroleum products into vehicles.
- Assist customers with propane filling and exchanges.
- Wash windshields, check windshield washer fluid and motor oil levels.
- Observe safety measures and report hazardous conditions immediately to the C-Store Supervisor or designate.
- Assist with regular clean-up duties to ensure an efficient safe and clean gas station is maintained.
- Present a neat, clean, well-merchandised department and related work areas (including the C-store, parking lot, and washrooms).
- Any other duties needed to help to drive Gateway's vision and abide by our Co-operative values of responsibility, respect and excellence.
Qualifications:
- Fuel, pump attendant or retail experiences would be an asset.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- Attentive to detail and remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Working Conditions:
- May deal with conflicts when customers become upset or rude.
- Constantly standing and walking throughout shift for up to 8 hours.
- Physically demanding at times. Able to life and carry up to 25 kg (50 lbs.).
- Required to be on ones feet for an extended period of time
- Exposure to temperature extremes (coolers, freezers, store temperatures, outside temperatures)
