Description

Gibson Livestock (a division of Titan Livestock Group of Companies) is currently looking for an energetic individual to fill the position of full time Yard Labourer located at our buy station in Moose Jaw, SK. (Hwy 2 8km south of Moose Jaw)

If you are the successful applicant you will be a team player with a positive attitude and be willing to learn. You will have initiative and drive to get the job done.

Responsibilities:

- Daily pen checks to ensure animal health
- Assist with livestock management including organization of processing and treating
- Shipping of cattle: assist with loading cattle and ensuring appropriate cattle are being loaded; supply manifests to truck driver
- Assist with yard maintenance including repairing slab fences, wire fences, and pipe fences
- Daily checks, maintenance and repair of feed bunks and water bowls
- Clean up of yard, pens, roads, buildings, and fields
- Operate various equipment including skid steer, box scraper, UTV, loader, feed truck and dump truck
- Other projects/duties as assigned

Requirements:

- Minimum of 1-2 years work experience handling cattle, pen-checking, processing and treating cattle
- Must be able to perform manual physical labour
- Excellent communication and strong organization skills
- Must be self-motivated with a positive team player attitude
- Must have attention to detail
- Is consistently at work and on time
- Physically fit and able to push, pull, lift up to 50+ lbs and to bend and kneel with comfort
- Schedule includes days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Must be flexible and able to work longer hours/days during busy seasons
- Excellent command of the English language (reading, writing, oral)
