Description

The Good Spirit School Division invites applications for a temporary full-time Educational Assistant (EA).  

Assignment and Term:
    This position is a permanent (10 month) part-time position of 5.5 hours per day in accordance with the Educational Assistant school calendar.
    The position commences on August 26, 2022 and concludes May 26, 2022.  The work schedule will be determined by the Principal and Student Services.  Rest periods will be scheduled in accordance with AP 403 Appendix B - Rest Periods and the current collective bargaining agreement.
    Due to the nature of the position, the successful candidate will be placed on layoff during school vacation periods with an automatic recall following the school vacation periods.
The duties of an Educational Assistant are to:
    work closely with students to meet their diverse learning goals.
    provide assistance to students with mobility needs and/or who require personal care.
    assist the classroom teacher to support learning with all students in the classroom.
    maintain strict confidentiality of all information pertaining to a child, classroom and the school.
    perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or designate and those listed in Job Description - Educational Assistant.
The successful candidate will have the desired qualifications:
    Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
    Acute attention to detail, adaptability, flexibility and the ability to work as a team member will be considered assets.
Salary and Benefits:
    The successful candidate will be paid on a monthly basis at an hourly rate from $17.98 - $23.25 plus applicable vacation pay.
