Job Description: Under the direction of the Manager, the Clinical Coordinator is accountable for the system navigation and coordination of patient flow in Day Surgery and Post Anesthesia Care Unit. This is achieved by the Clinical Coordinator having an ongoing awareness and involvement in workflow in the unit. The incumbent is responsible for the daily operations, organization and functioning of the unit. The incumbent coordinates and evaluates human and material resources to ensure provision of quality patient care. The incumbent promotes and monitors quality nursing care by assisting with the establishment and maintenance of nursing care standards, policies and procedures and by participating in quality improvement and research activities. The coordinator assists with identifying educational needs of the staff, orientation and education and evaluation of the progress of staff development. The incumbent functions as a role model and clinical resource for nursing staff and all members of the multidisciplinary team on issues affecting patients. The incumbent acts as an advocate for patient/family and staff/physicians. The incumbent provides direct patient care as required. The incumbent assists with all aspects of staff scheduling.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
Current CPR Certification
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of recent acute surgery experience and minimum of 3 years of Day Surgery /PACU experience.
- Experience working with cardiac Monitoring.
