Description

Qualifications:
    ECE Level 1, Early Childhood Education Certificate, Early Childhood Education diploma or provincially recognized equivalent
    Valid Standard First Aid and CPR or willing to obtain within the first three months of employment
    CPIC & Vulnerable Sector Check
    Valid Class 5 Drivers License & Must have own vehicle
    Non-judgemental, accepting and ability to relate to individuals and families who may not share the same basic value systems
    Demonstrates motivation and the ability to learn and practice basic supportive skills
    Good interpersonal communication, time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
    Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in relation to work
    Extensive knowledge of the indigenous community and culture
Duties and Responsibilities of the ECE Home Visitor:
    Maintains contact with caseload families in their homes, based on program guidelines
    Provides support to families in developing skills and resources to promote healthy early childhood development
    Screens infants and children in relation to developmental milestones using ASQ
    Participates fully and consistently as a conscientious team member in caring for the children and in the overall operation of the program and centre, maintains regular and open communication with program team members and all other co-workers
    Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Director

 - Prepare progress reports and discuss with parents and other staff members
 - Assess the developmental level of children

 - Assist in maintaining records of children

 - Child abuse registry check
