Description

The Saskatoon Downtown Youth Centre Inc. - EGADZ requires Childcare Workers interested in Casual shifts providing a safe supportive environment with the Baby Steps Program for the child, while still offering mothers support, structure, and guidance in their attempt to regain custody of their child(ren) in care. (Shift Work is involved Daytime/Evenings/OVERNIGHTS/WEEKENDS)

Baby Steps believes that the parent must be involved in case plans involving their children and their own personal needs to have long term success. Baby steps must follow the Youth Centered Continuum of Care when dealing with the parent as it involves; buy in, citizenship, and the need of government and non-government agencies to work together in a real partnership teaching various skills that provide concrete outcomes for mother and child.

Qualifications:

Early Childhood Education or Post-Secondary education in the human services field, equivalent experience or a combination of both

Require hands-on real-life experience with children and youth

Demonstrate and practice a healthy lifestyle

Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with youth, staff and partnering agencies

Knowledge of other agencies and resources within our community

Basic knowledge of nutrition values

Ability to express ideas and concepts effectively in an oral and written form

Working knowledge of computers/windows

Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and issues

A good understanding of EGADZ and our mission

Training in CPR and ASIST (ASIST training within the first 6 months of employment)

Must have a valid drivers license that reflects a safe driving record - A Driver's Abstract is required (within 3 Months)

Criminal Records Check including Vulnerable Sector (Within 6 Months)

Starting Wage $20.77
