Early Childhood Educators will work alongside the Center Director to plan, organize, and
implement age-appropriate activities for children between the ages of 6 weeks-12 years old. Early
Childhood Educators will provide care for children that includes leading children in activities that
stimulate and develop their intellectual, physical, and emotional growth and ensure their security and
well-being. Early Childhood Educators will be the main point of contact with the children but will have the support and supervision of the Center Director.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
o Assist the Director in developing and implementing the child-care program that supports the
physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of the children using Montessori and Play and Exploration approaches
o Lead activities that include telling/reading stories, teaching songs, and providing opportunities
to express creativity through arts and crafts, dramatic play, music, and physical activity while following Play and Exploration
o Assist children through socializing and day to day opportunities using multiple child guidance methods
o Maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of the children
o Prepare daily reports for parents on Seesaw application
o Help with cleaning, sanitizing, and keeping the daycare centre in an overall state of cleanliness
o Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
o Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers
o Maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping
o Attend staff meetings
Minimum Requirements:
o ECE diploma or provincially recognized equivalent (or willingness to attain)
o Valid Standard First Aid and CPR C (or willingness to attain at Center's expense
o Negative criminal record/vulnerable sectors check
o Experience in childcare and some interpersonal skills
