Description

Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency is seeking a Term Tanker Base Operator to be part of our team to provide services to Air Operations Aerial Tanker Program. The position headquarters will be located in La Ronge. The work schedule will be 7 days on, 4 days off, 7 days on and 3 days off. The successful candidate will be on expenses when positioned away from their headquarters.  

The successful candidate must have the following:

-The ability to travel to various locations throughout Saskatchewan, or outside the Province on extremely short notice as operations demand, sometimes for several days
-A valid Saskatchewan drivers license, and
-A current criminal record check  

The successful candidate must have knowledge or experience with:
-Small motors, including maintenance, troubleshooting, and basic repair
-Pumps, mixing equipment, associated troubleshooting, and basic repair
-Storage and handling of fuels, lubricants, cleaning fluids
-Working around aircraft
-Computers for providing e-mails and use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

As a successful candidate you will have the ability to be a team player in a diverse work force, work in high demand situations for extended periods of time safely and efficiently, have the ability to comprehend written training manuals and put knowledge gained into operational use in a timely fashion. Effective communication and interaction with people during intense situations is necessary.
