Job Description: Reporting to the Southwest EMS Operations Manager the Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic/Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) is responsible for responding to emergent and non-emergent EMS calls for service; and for providing initial assessment, treatment, stabilization and transport of ill or injured persons at the Advanced Life Support level.

The ACP will provide care with strict adherence to: Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) core values, policies, and work standards; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Paramedic Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and SCoP Regulatory and Administrative Bylaws; and The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations.

Required Qualifications

Valid Class 4 drivers license
Grade 12
Clean Driver's Abstract
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at the ACP/EMT-P level
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP)
International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) - Advanced
Health Care Provider Level C Certification (HCP-C)
CMA accredited Pre-Hospital Care Program at the Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) level
Experience
Previous experience as an ACP is an asset.
Instructor level certificates in BLS, ITLS, ACLS and PALS/PEPP is an asset.

Other Information

Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement.  HSAS seniority within the Saskatchewan Health Authority will be considered under the Selection Criteria.
