Facility: EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES
Job Description: Reporting to the Southwest EMS Operations Manager the Emergency Medical Technician - Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) is responsible for responding to emergent and non-emergent EMS calls for service; and for providing initial assessment, treatment, stabilization and transport of ill or injured persons at the Basic Life Support level.

The PCP will provide care with strict adherence to: Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) core values, policies, and work standards; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Paramedic Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and SCoP Regulatory and Administrative Bylaws; and The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations.

Required Qualifications

Valid Class 4 drivers license
CPR/AED Provider Certification
Automated External Defibrillator certification
CMA accredited Pre-Hospital Care Program at the Primary Care Paramedic (PCP/EMT/ICP/EMT-A) level
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at the PCP/EMT level
International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) - Basic
Experience
In healthcare is an asset
In Emergency planning is considered an asset
Instructors Certificates also an asset
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Other Information

Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement.  HSAS seniority within the Saskatchewan Health Authority will be considered under the Selection Criteria.
