Duties and responsibilities:
SaskAbilities is dedicated to providing person-centred and innovative employment programs. The Employment Specialist provides support to both the employer and the job seeker to ensure successful employment retention.
Duties include:
- Assist youth and adults with employment barriers in preparing for, obtaining, and maintaining competitive employment
- Assist clients with resume development, interview techniques, job search and on the job skills
- Plan and facilitate employment related workshops
- Engage and recruit employers, promote and educate the benefits of diverse and inclusive workforce
- Attend networking events
- Conduct workplace and job analysis functions
- Provide on the job support
- Perform administrative duties
- Uphold mission, vision and values of SaskAbilities
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in the human service field or equivalent professional designation obtained through post-secondary
- Class 5 drivers license
Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years related experience
Skills:
- Well-developed interpersonal skills to work effectively and cooperatively with job seekers, employers, referral agents, colleagues and public contacts.
- Effective time management, problem solving and organizational skills
Final Candidates are required to provide satisfactory criminal record checks including a vulnerable sector search.
Successful candidates are recommended to have an Auto Pak with at least 1 million dollars in liability insurance.
