Description

Northern Strands is currently recruiting to fulfill the role of a Warehouse Labourer. This position is primarily responsible to assist in loading, unloading, lifting, and moving material. The Warehouse Labourer is an integral part of our team and contributes to the success of the company. This position reports directly to the Inside Sales & Warehouse Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assemble containers and crates, record contents manually or in computer system, and pack goods to be shipped
Assist with loading and unloading of goods from trucks or other conveyances
Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages, and reject damaged goods
Operate forklift, hand truck, overhead crane or other equipment as necessary
Organize items to fill customer requests from Order Desk and Outside Sales
Provide backup assistance to the Shipper/Receiver
Assist with reeling rope for customer orders
Restock wire rope on racking and pallet racks
Assist with filling chain orders
Assist with building wire rope slings and small assemblies
Complete regular inventory cycle counts
Assist with general facilities maintenance
Interact courteously with customers, vendors and co-workers, displaying professional conduct
Other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Grade 12 education or equivalent
2+ years experience would be preferred
Valid driver's license
Any safety-related training certificates would be considered an asset (ie. Forklift)
Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities
