PAMIs mandate has evolved to include researching, designing, building and testing technology in the agriculture, mining and transportation industries. PAMI does not retain intellectual property rather it supports the IP development of its client and collaborates in technology creation.
Since its inception, PAMI has operated out of two highly specialized technological facilities in Humboldt, SK and Portage la Prairie, MB. While both sites are state-of-the-art facilities, PAMIs most valuable asset continues to be its staff of 35-50 employees who encompass a variety of backgrounds including agriculture, engineering, mining, trades, and instrumentation.
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Computer and Electronics Technical Lead, the incumbent provides supervisory and production services in the PAMI Cable Shop and may provide support to other various projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The following are the general duties of the position but are not inclusive of all the detailed tasks that may be required.
- Oversight of the PAMI Cable Shop
- Building, prototyping, and testing harnesses and cables
- Managing quality assurance for cables
- Maintaining and monitoring test equipment
- Packaging components for final delivery
- Design input
- Completing documentation and operations manuals
- Supervise Cable Assemblers
- Ordering wires, parts, and equipment as needed
- Maintaining the Cable Shop inventory of common wires, parts, and tools
- Maintain the overall delivery schedule of cable assemblies
- Support other PAMI activities as required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Supervisory and organizational experience
- At least 2 years experience building cables and wiring harnesses
- General use of cabling and electronics equipment
- Specialized training - IPC standards
Credentials and Experience:
- 1-2 years relevant post-secondary education or equivalent experience
