Northern Strands is currently recruiting to fulfill the role of an Outside Sales Representative. This position is primarily responsible for promoting sales to existing customers and generating sales to new customers. The Outside Sales Rep works closely with the Order Desk and will report directly to the Sales Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Generate and prepare quotes for customers after gathering the appropriate information regarding costs of products, services, and timelines
Build strong customer relations and maintain customer confidence and satisfaction
Identify markets, industries, or businesses that can be serviced by Northern Strands
Prepare sales plans for servicing new customers or gaining a market percentage
Work closely with the Operations Manager to review quotes and customer requirements
Participate in trade-shows and seminars and follow-up with contacts created through those events
Meet with customers on a regular basis to discuss their needs and requirements
Ability to travel and be away from home for multiple nights in a row
Provide assistance to the Order Desk, as needed, to generate sales to customers via phone or walk-ins
Other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Grade 12 education or equivalent
3+ years direct sales experience
Valid driver's license
Certificates related to mining or construction would be considered an asset
Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities
