Broadway United Church is a lively, spirit filled congregation located on the corner of McAra Street and Broadway Avenue in the City of Regina. As a congregation, we have been around for 60 years and are currently preparing and planning for the next 60.
Broadway is seeking a Music Director. The successful applicant/s will work in consultation and collaboration with the incumbent Minister, and the congregation on developing and enhancing our ministry of music. We offer a competitive salary. This is contracted part time position.
Job requirements:
Music Year:
o 52 Sundays, plus the following services: Blue Christmas, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day (if occurs on a Sunday only), Good Friday. Time off in consultation with the Church Minister.
Duties:
o Play the piano during church services;
o Prepare appropriate music for special services such as Easter and Christmas;
o Ensure the upkeep and proper maintenance of musical instruments, keeping them in good playing condition. Manage relationship with external services providers such as piano tuners;
o Ensure that the music library is organized and purchase new materials as required (within budget);
o Submit information for Sunday bulletin and the Annual Report; and
o Play for funerals and weddings if available (fee for service)
