Description

Melfort Housing Authority manages a property and program services portfolio on behalf of Saskatchewan Housing Corporation. The Housing Authority provides affordable housing to seniors, families, and others, who could not otherwise access safe, secure shelter within Melfort and the neighboring communities.

The Housing Authority has a term opportunity for a self-motivated, results oriented Groundskeeper and Maintenance Worker to join the team for the busy months through to the end of October 2022.     The responsibilities are varied and include mowing lawns, trimming trees and shrubs, cleaning eaves as well as exterior and interior painting at the five main Housing Authority properties.  You may be called upon to assist with other maintenance related tasks as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Minimum Grade 12, or equivalent, supplemented by related grounds keeping experience.
-Knowledge of and experience using hand and power tools.
-Positive personal presentation and interpersonal skills.
-Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, efficiency, time management and good judgment.
-Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, and work amongst tenants and the public.
-Ability to maintain confidentiality, work independently and meet deadlines.
-Recognition of, and respect for, people's diversity.
-A reliable vehicle and cell phone are required.

This is a full time, seasonal term position to work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours/week; one weekend/month to participate in weekend rotation work.

The position is expected to start as soon as possible with a term to October 31, 2022.
