Job Description: The Manager directs a regional team of profession trades to carry out infrastructure and capital construction projects, managing multiple construction projects at a time, and assisting in the day to day maintenance of facilities when required. The Manager is responsible for planning, estimating, scheduling and procurement for constructions projects as part of daily tasks. The incumbent is part of the Infrastructure Management Team that coordinates the delivery of renovations, repairs, and/or replacement of major facility systems such as medical air systems, boilers, chillers, generators, HVAC, and fire suppression systems, as well as other clinical and office renovations. The Area Trades Team Manager must be able to fully understand structural, mechanical, electrical and architectural drawings. The incumbent ensures all work is performed in a professional, safe , and timely manner in accordance with SHA policy, safety standards, infection prevention and control standards, budget, and best industry practices.
Required Qualifications
Valid Class 5 Driver's license
Licensed and in good standing with professional association and/or regulatory body, if applicable
Undergraduate degree or diploma in engineering, journeyperson certificate in a building trade, or technology program
Experience
- Experience, at an operational level, as a leader who has developed and led innovative planning and programs in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment
- 5+ years of experience in engineering or building trade or Journeyperson in a building trade
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to adapt to change or unexpected developments
