Job Description: As the primary Counsellor for Problem Gambling and other Process Addictions at Community Addiction Services, under the direct supervision of the Out-of-Scope Manager and the Clinical Supervisor, the Addiction Counsellor Degree is responsible for client service delivery as well as the development, implementation and delivery of all services within Community Addiction Services Adult Community Counseling. Other process addiction may include but are not limited to internet gaming, shopping addiction, sex and pornography addictions. The Addiction Counselor Degree will also provide individual and group counselling.
Required Qualifications

Degree in Chemical Dependency Studies, or another completed social sciences or human services degree acceptable to the employer.
Preferred training / knowledge in Program Gambling and other process Addictions.
Willingness to complete problem gambling and other process addiction education necessary to perform the duties required for this position.
Experience
One year experience working with Problem Gambling clients, con-current disorders as it applies to Process Addictions and Substance Use Disorders and Mental Health
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Application and demonstration of advanced knowledge and provision of treatment for adults using a broad range of approaches including Motivational Assessment Process, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems theory, client-centered therapy, trauma informed practice and treatment modalities appropriate for adults.
