This position supports the Planning & Development Services department to facilitate the implementation and maintenance of business solutions. This includes ongoing planning and facilitation of priority setting, managing stakeholder expectations and directing day-to-day support activities. The Senior Business Solutions Specialist (SBSS) provides advanced expertise in the CityView software system, including workspace, the mobile application and the customer portal (eBuild) and hardware and software used by the Department, as well as integration with other City applications such as GIS, TAS and Hyperion. As the expert, the SBSS trains and mentors the Business Systems Analysts (BSA) in the branch and provides all levels of staff with support and guidance to troubleshoot the most complex scenarios.

This position works with the department to gather and document business requirements and define detailed technical specifications for system customizations and enhancements. The SBSS works closely with the Technology Department to deliver on those requirements while adhering to City governance processes and service management standards.

The SBSS maintains collaborative relationships with staff in other branches and Departments such as Financial Services, Parks, Rec and Cultural Services, Assessment, Tax and Utility Billing, Fire and Protective Services, Infrastructure Services, Roadways & Transportation, Water, Waste & Environmental Services and Service Regina as well as external agencies and vendors. These relationships are vital to ensure successful integration of business processes between departments.
