Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Will be working with the LIP Advisory Council members to create and implement a settlement strategy and action plan for integrating newcomers/immigrant needs, building welcoming communities, immigrant recruitment and retention, and active inclusion;
Research best practices, gathering community trends and statistical data around immigration, engaging stakeholders, building support and understanding of LIPs in the community, and evaluating the programs impact;
Design evaluation tools utilizing the measures outlined in the LIP proposal;
Facilitate scheduled meetings of partners and stakeholders to stimulate development of innovative and collaborative action among stakeholders;
Participate in bi-monthly teleconference meeting with other LIPs from the Prairies and Northern Territories region;
Complete quarterly and yearly report for IRCC;
Presentations to stakeholders such as the Municipal Government and community stakeholders;
The successful candidate must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule that includes occasional evenings to accommodate program needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree in community development or nonprofit management is desired
University degree Social Work, Human Resources, Psychology, Sociology, Education, or a related field will be considered
At least 2 years experience in related field
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Excellent public speaking and presentation skills
Proven skills in developing and implementing media materials on sensitive public issues
Keen understanding of diversity issues and experience of working in multicultural settings
Proven track record of working with multiple stakeholders to catalyze collaboration
Valid Saskatchewan Drivers license and must have a reliable vehicle as this position requires to travel in the region
Proficient computer skills
This is a 0.85 permanent position or 32 hours per week.
