REACH (Regina Education and Action on Child Hunger) is a non-profit organization that works to ensure everyone in Regina has access to safe, nutritious, culturally acceptable, and affordable food.
We are seeking a manager to oversee the operations of our food security programs which include The Good Food Box, The Family Basket, Mobile Stores, and Convenience Meals. Working with staff and volunteers, this position will spend time at a computer completing orders and working with suppliers, in the plant area receiving orders and packing boxes, and in the community at mobile stores. Duties include:
Managing Food Security Assistants including recruitment, training, and delegating tasks
Weekly ordering and receiving of food and supplies, and maintaining relationships with suppliers
Maintaining and enforcing protocols for food safety, sanitation, security, and health and safety
Training and supporting volunteers
Operating mobile stores including working a cash register and dealing with customers
Packing, delivery, and pick-up of food baskets
Maintaining accurate and complete records of orders and other activities
Requirements:
Grade 12 diploma
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Good computer skills and proficient in the use of Excel and Word
Good math skills
A valid drivers licence
A background check free of criminal convictions related to violence, sexual offences or fraud
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
Experience supervising staff, handling cash, and food safety training is an asset
