Job Description: As a member of Mental Health and Addiction Services, the Outreach Nurse is an integral member of an intersectoral, multidisciplinary team.  Responsibilities include screening, assessment, crisis intervention, counselling, goal planning, consultation, community outreach and follow-up, preparation of reports, data collection, client and family and public education.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA) or Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan (RPNAS)
Current CPR Certification
Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
Experience
Minimum of five years recent experience in community mental health or relevant setting required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to work independently
Effective oral and written communication skills
Understanding of the principles of nursing process and interventions in relation to mental health of the individual, including the ability to utilize a variety of assessment tools, i.e. Mental Status Exam, BPRS, and Suicide Risk Assessment etc
Knowledge of harm reduction in Addiction Medicine
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of professionals, and members of the public
Advanced knowledge of drugs of abuse and their effects both during use and during acute and post acute withdrawal
Demonstrated ability to work with complex clients
Working knowledge of methadone/methadone assisted recovery
Ability to initiate and exercise critical thinking and decision-making
Advanced knowledge of concurrent
