Social Science Researcher
The Saskatchewan First Nations Family and Community Institute Inc. (SFNFCI) is a leading, innovative, sustainable, holistic center of research and professional learning to organizations serving children, youth, and families. We are currently recruiting for a Researcher who will report to the Director of Research and Curriculum. The Researcher will conduct research in areas related to the service of children, youth, and families and or any other special projects led by SFNFCI. They will develop programs of research and work in partnership to plan projects, including establishing advisory committees, determining appropriate methods, conducting both quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and preparing publishable papers, reports and materials on the findings of research. These findings may be used for the development of standards, policies, training and or recommendations for SFNFCI stakeholders or interested parties.
Education
Four (4) Year Bachelors Degree in Social Science or related field is required
Masters Degree in Social Science would be preferred and would be considered an asset.
Experience
Five (5) years previous experience demonstrating working knowledge in:
Previous experience as a Researcher and proposal development
Experience in 998the social sciences or disability field would be considered an asset
Familiarity with OCAP principles and the ability to conduct research that respects Indigenous knowledge and reflects First Nations ideals and ways of being
Data collection both qualitative and quantitative and ability to monitor and ensure confidentially and the appropriate storage of research materials
