Description:
Sun West School Division invites applications for Educational Assistants in Walter Aseltine School, Rosetown, SK.  These are temporary positions, 6 hours per day, every student day, starting September 1, 2022.
  
The successful candidate will be required to attend to physical and cognitive needs of students as assigned, including personal care, lifting, transferring and activities as recommend by occupational therapists, physical therapists and speech and language pathologists. The successful candidate must be physically able to lift, turn, transfer and assist students as required.   Experience working with individuals with cognitive or physical limitations would be considered an asset. The successful candidate will have the ability to establish rapport and maintain a calm demeanor to effectively support the needs of students. Candidates with post-secondary education in a field related, such as an Educational Assistant Certificate, would be considered an asset.  

The successful candidate will work as a collaborative member of a team (Classroom teachers, Student Support Teachers, Principal and/or other professional staff) providing assistance to teachers in the delivery and implementation of educational programs and services that facilitate the integration, growth, learning, safety and comfort of students with intensive needs. The successful candidate will work one-on-one with special needs students, youth with learning disabilities, those on modified and alternate programs, and those with health and behavior-related issues.
