Operate and drive truck to transport goods and materials, plan travel schedules and routes, receive and relay information to central dispatcher
Record cargo information, distance travelled, fuel consumption and other information on logbook/trip envelope sheet
Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes and monitor vehicle performance, perform preventive maintenance.
Plan trip logistics and obtain required documentation to transport goods
Perform pre trip and post trip inspection of truck trailer and oversee all aspect of vehicle such as condition of equipment and loading and unloading of cargo.
Ensure cargo is secured according to safely requirements
Communicate with the dispatcher regularly and notify of any disruption of the scheduled delivery.
May perform emergency roadside repairs, if needed
May drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.

License Requirements:
Air Brakes Endorsement, Class 1 or A license
