Description

The Beaver River Regional Housing Authority (BRRHA) is currently recruiting a Maintenance Worker to join their team.  BRRHA manages 291 housing units in Beauval and 6 surrounding communities, providing social housing to low-income seniors, families and others who could not otherwise access safe, secure shelter.  If you have initiative, great communication skills, the ability to multitask, and are skilled in building and property maintenance, we have a position that may be of interest to you!  

What youll do:
Maintain buildings  service and repair;
Prepare vacancies;
Maintain grounds; and
Maintain housing authority equipment and inventory.

What were looking for:
Experience in custodial and maintenance work, as well as repairing building mechanical equipment;
Working knowledge of a variety of trades including carpentry, plumbing, heating, mechanical, painting, electrical, and grounds work;
The ability to promote and contribute to positive working relationships with management, staff and tenants;
Recognition of and respect for peoples diversity and individual differences; and
Organizational, multi-tasking, writing and basic computer skills.

What youll need:
Grade 12 supplemented by formal training in a technical or building trade (i.e. carpentry, plumbing, electrical) or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
1-3 years of experience in building maintenance and repair;
A valid drivers license and a suitable, roadworthy vehicle;
The ability to travel;
The ability to participate in standby emergency schedules for evenings, weekends and holidays;
An approved Enhanced (Vulnerable Sector) Criminal Record Check
