Description

Samaritan Place is a faith based organization committed to providing a home to 100 level 3 and level 4 residents and 20 independent individuals living at Samaritan Place. All Samaritan Place employees are expected to help create a home and strengthen community to establish a sense of belonging, usefulness and purpose in daily life.  Resident choice is paramount in building a home.

The Life Enhancement Guide provides leadership to the neighbourhood in activities, assuring each neighbourhood's abilities to promote the psychosocial wellbeing of all residents and to plan and carry out interests and social activities for residents, creating a diversity of opportunities for meaningful pursuits, daily pleasures, recreation, exercise, friendships, social interaction, growth and learning, fun and enjoyment. Performing all tasks that require an activities professional designee, the Life Enhancement Guide works to grow the household staff in activities expertise. Facilitates the effective completion of care plans and RAI documentation with regards to activity needs. The Life Enhancement Guide works cooperatively and respectfully with residents, coworkers, families, visitors and volunteers to create a positive and pleasant environment in the home. This may involve direct problem solving, conflict resolution and ensuring that the psychosocial and activity needs and desires of residents are met. Within our Home environment, there is the possibility to have animals that also need care and attention. Specific training will be provided should this become necessary.
