Duties:
Provide group facilitation programming to the clients who are in treatment
Encourage patients to be active participants in groups
Observe patients who may require referral to one-on-one counselling
Plan and administer culturally relevant and holistic treatment to patients in groups
Monitor patients treatment progress and keep track of their mental status
Aid patients in maintaining mental health stability
Complete annual training required for a position such as crisis intervention training
Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients and treatment plans at all times
Act as a patient advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations
Provide one-on-one counselling to those in treatment
Work with the treatment coordinator to develop programming
Qualifications:
A 2-year Diploma in; Chemical Dependency or;
Mental Health and Wellness
Excellent time management and prioritizing skills
Minimum of 2 years of experience would be considered an asset;
Excellent communication skills when interacting with professionals or patients
Writing skills for reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals required
Ability to define problems, gather data, organize facts, and make valid conclusions
High level of sound and independent judgment, reasoning, and discretion
