Job Summary:
Are you passionate about empowering young people? Doyouenjoy reasoned discussions and debates?SEDA is looking for an energeticperson tohelp leadpublic speakingand debate programming. You will be responsible for making connections with schools and teachers. Our goal is to reach schools outside of Saskatoon and bring speech and debate to rural communities. The instructor will be travelling to these communities to facilitate in-class or after school speech and debate workshops, as well as promoting SEDA.
Responsibilities and Duties
o Explore advertising options, fundraising possibilities, and outreach strategies
o Contact schools and teachers to set up in-class or after school speech and/or debate workshops
o Deliverin-person speech and debate classes (some lesson panning materials provided)
o Promote SEDA programming to students and teachers.
o Participate in feedback and reportingprocesses.
Qualifications and Skills
o Minimum2 years inpost-secondary education
o Minimum 2 years experience in education related field
o Knowledgeable in public speaking skills and speech
o Proficient in National Style Debate
o Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
o Leadership experience, and team oriented
o Reliableandorganized
o Access to vehicle
o Successful criminal record and vulnerable sector check
