Description

The Ministry of Social Services, Income Assistance Service Delivery Branch, is committed to investing in positive outcomes for clients in the areas of income support and services so clients can regain their financial independence to the best of their ability. We do this by providing financial supports and connecting clients to support services in their community. We meet their basic needs for food, shelter and clothing and develop collaborative, customized case plans.

Income Assistance workers are empathetic, compassionate, and non-judgmental collaborators with excellent communication skills who treat all people with dignity, respect, and objectivity. They accept and understand the importance of the clients perspective in a client-friendly approach to case planning and are flexible when working with clients and their families and community organizations. They are reliable and adapt easily to changes in workload, policies and procedures in a continuously changing environment.

Typically, the knowledge for this position would be obtained through the completion of an undergraduate degree in Social Work, Indigenous Social Work, Sociology, Human Justice, Psychology, or a related course of study.

Candidates are asked to clearly identify in their cover letter and/or resume how they have gained the required knowledge and demonstrated abilities required. Please fully answer the prescreening questions. Selections for interviews will be made on this basis. Only those candidates being interviewed will be contacted.
