This role will be in planning & organizing routine, & non-routine research & developmental activities related to extrusion, purchasing raw materials & making extrusion reports. It will be key in working close with internal departments.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/FUNCTIONS
Selects & evaluates raw materials for experiments
Establishes strong relationship with key suppliers & place purchase orders for extrusion R&D work
Works with the receiving department & quality assurance department to resolve quality discrepancies related to any material
Interfaces frequently with various internal departments (i.e. Product development, Ingredient Innovation) and customers in accomplishing project milestones
Attend extrusion R&D & scale-up trials with team
Arrange shipments for clients
Develop in-process & finished product manufacturing specification
Maintains accurate, up to date records, laboratory notebooks & computer database
Prepare & document all plant validation trials according to department protocol
Maintains a sanitary, safe & orderly work environment
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
Bachelors Degree in Food Science, Food Engineering or related field with 2+ years product development related experience in food preparation/food industry; M.S.in Food Science, Food Engineering, or related field
Knowledge of food safety, GMP and HACCP
Proficiency in Microsoft Word or Excel
Effective written & verbal communication skills
Comfortable with presenting trial results to clients
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment
Attention to detail
Positive attitude & good team player
Ability to multitask & prioritize, & work independently
Good organizational, analytical abilities & problem solving skills
Must be able to lift & handle up to 25 kgs
Stand for 6 or more hours during the work day
