The successful applicant will be responsible for the administration of addiction counselling and participant consultation within the philosophy and vision of Circle Project. Main duties include client focused recovery based and culturally appropriate assessments. This includes developing harm reduction strategies and culturally based approaches to treatment as needed for individuals. The successful candidate must be professional, reliable, flexible and display a good attitude in the workplace. The candidate is also required to be flexible in their schedule including the ability to work some evenings or weekends as needed. Those with lived experience are encouraged to apply.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Training and/or degree in the Human Services area; with preference for Addiction Counseling Diploma.
- Minimum of one-year combined knowledge and/or experience in direct helping/counselling support services to Individuals affected by addictions or mental wellness issues.
- Cultural knowledge specific to Indigenous culture and history through informal or formal training and knowledge in
- Demonstrated skills, intake, assessment, treatment planning case management and crises management.
- Able to work in a fast-paced team environment with strong multitasking abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must hold a valid drivers license and have a reliable vehicle.
- Criminal records check with a vulnerable sector check MANDATORY.
