Job Summary: John Howard Society has new employment opportunities in Regina.

Under the supervision of the Manager of Housing Development, or designate, the Sooksiht caseworker will provide services to clients in need of housing support, case management and service delivery
Duties:
Provide housing support and engage in advocacy to reduce barriers
Create case plans with information provided from referral agencies
Working in partnership with local agencies assist clients in accessing services and act as liaison between partnering agencies and clients
Providing transportation to appointments
Plan and facilitate recreational activities a minimum of two times per month
Co-facilitate monthly house meeting with the Manager of Housing Development
Promote positive independent problem solving and decision-making skills
Provide life skills support to clients
Role model positive behavior and encourage, and assist clients to practice self-help and non-violent problem-solving skills and to utilize their supports
Assist in completing required assessments with individuals.
Ensure the services provided are risk reductive, individual, integrated, client orientated and delivered through the lens of reconciliation
Provide emergency, incidental behavior management (non-violent crisis intervention)
Specific Skills
Provide counsel to help clients resolve problems
Interview clients to assess their situation and determine the types of services required and eligibility
Qualifications
Degree/Diploma in the Human Services sector or a combination of education and experience
Minimum one year work experience in a residential setting, with experience in case management
A valid drivers license
Clean Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector check
First Aid and CPR
Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (an asset)
