The Yorkton Curling Club is seeking a Bar Manager for the upcoming curling season. Reporting to the YCC Board of Directors, the Bar Manager will ensure the efficient operation of the YCC Bar. The term of the contract is from October 10, 2022 to March 31, 2023. While the contract covers a period of 6 1/2 months, the seasonal nature of the YCC requires the Bar Manager to work a flexible and variable schedule, depending on the needs of the YCC. The hours of work will average approximately 25 hours per week. Hours will include evenings and weekends.The Bar Manager will perform a wide range of duties including the following:
Initial bar setup, inclusive of ensuring alcoholic beverages, mix, glasses, straws, ice, etc. are purchased and available for sale.
Initial food setup, inclusive of ensuring food items, plates, napkins, etc. are purchased and available for sale.
o Restocking of liquor, mix, food items etc. as required
o Operation and balancing of POINT OF SALE system on a daily basis
o Tracking of bar revenue and expenses
o Accurate inventory counts, and be accountable for discrepancies
Promotion of the bar services to members and guests
o Serving of clientele (both food and drinks)
o Provision of table service to guests when bar is not busy
Preparation of food items
Maintenance of lobby/bar area
o Cleaning of tables and chairs
Initiate and complete end-of-season shut-down of bar with respect to liquor and food.
Qualifications:
o Serve Right certification
o Food Safe certification
o Previous experience in managing a bar Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
o Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills in dealing with the Board of Directors, YCC members, the public, and guests.
o Ability to manage a bar (inclusive of serving drinks and food, and operating a till system)
o Ability to work with minimal supervision.
o Ability to manage multiple demands. Excellent tip potential and competitive compensation based on experience.
