We build custom cabinetry. Looking for an individual who is detailed oriented and has the proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. This role could be required to act as a "lead" periodically.
Description
- knowledge of cabinet building materials
- use various hand tools and woodworking machinery for assembling of products
- measure, cut, shape, sand wood surfaces, and apply finishes
- construct and assemble cabinet components, ensuring that all pieces fit
- verify and double check calculations to ensure alignment of doors and hardware
- install hardware (handles, drawer pulls, hinges)
- maintain inventory of regular stocked materials
- request purchase of materials for upcoming projects
- work under time constraints to meet specific timelines
- maintain all equipment in good working condition
- maintain a clean organized uncluttered workspace; dispose of garbage
- follow all safety policies and procedures to support a safe working environment
- ability to problem-solve
- work independently, as well as part of a team
- willing to work evenings and weekends if requested
- must have a valid drivers license
- may be asked for a Criminal Record Check
- show up every day ready to work
Work Conditions and Physical Demands
- work in a wood dust environment
- frequent lifting of 5 to 50 lbs.; occasional lifting up to 100 lbs.
- sustained periods of standing, walking, bending, and kneeling
Qualifications
- strong English written and verbal communication skills
- ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints
- post secondary cabinetry courses
- 2+ years experience in cabinetry and millwork
